Corteo Cirque Du Soleil Opens Thrusday, November 8 in Orange County California

Corteo is in an Italian word which translated means a joyous procession or parade. This presentation of Cirque Du Soleil is based upon a parade as imagined by a clown. The astonishing athletic abilities of the performers have awed audiences of all ages for 20+ years. It has been a dream to see a performance of Cirque Du Soleil for many years. On Thursday night as the lights go up, I'll be squirming in my seat like a 5 year old.

I was pleasantly surprised with an invitation to attend the show as the guest of Cirque Du Soleil because of my work with the South Orange County Regional Chambers of Commerce. Currently, it is my pleasure to serve as the President of the Laguna Hills/Laguna Woods Chamber. Tonight I received an email extending a further invitation to a cocktail reception with the cast members following the performance. What a remarkable treat! I can't wait to tell you all about it later this week.

Marlene, you'll love the show! I saw Corteo in D.C. last year and it was wonderful. Cirque du Soleil performances are unbelievable. I've seen half a dozen and would go again in a second.

Brian - Oh, I'm so glad to hear that. Sometimes when you look forward to something so much it can be disappointing when you finally get to see it. Wish you could be here for the Orange County performance, but your part of the world is putting on a pretty spectacular show of its own right now. Enjoy the Fall colors! I'd love to be there for the Dogwood in the spring!

Cirque is one of the great entertainment discoveries of all time. As you probably know the company's shows have just about taken over the Vegas scene, with multiple venues featuring them to packed housesnight after night.

Esko - Yes, I know there are several Cirque performances in Las Vegas. They have some very elaborate sets that I'd love to see as well. I've never been able to bring myself to part with the price they ask for tickets. Any tips on how to see a show without paying $200-$300? I'll be at NAR next week and would love to see a show while there.

OMG! I can't wait to hear about it! One of my friends texted me from Disney earlier this evening saying she was at the Cirque de Soleil show. Cirque was here in Ft. Lauderdale a few months back and, unfortunately, I kept putting off going until they were gone. I'll be front row and center when they come back next year though! Enjoy the show and I love your Christmas pic :)
