MAKAWAO ~ MAUI

Located on the corner of Baldwin and Makawao Avenues for over 20 years, Polli's Mexican Restaurantis a favorite hang out in Upcountry Maui. This is ranch country, where hard working cowboys can work up a hefty appetite. Tourists and residents will all agree that Polli's is a great meeting place for lunch or dinner.

I always love their sign - COME IN AND EAT OR WE'LL BOTH STARVE!

Mexican food is their specialty, with all the usual fare: burritos, tacos, chimichangas, enchiladas, home made chips and salsa, and of course Margaritas and ice cold cervesa. This old fashioned town has plenty of thirsty regulars who belly up to the bar, where it's cool and shady. T-shirts and souvenirs are for sale too, in this quaint establishment.

I like the tag line. I wonder how soon before some real estate and mortgage shops will have the same tag line?

Come in a buy a home or get a mortgage loan or we'll both be out of doors!

I would go and eat there simply for the sign. If they're that creative with words, the food should be fantastic as well.

I ate there Tuesday just after the power outage. Ono food and decent service. I love Mexican food. and being from San Francisco I am hard to please. Pollis is ok. Jeff
