Another Active Rain member falls down....ME
When I started in Active Rain, I rode the fence for a long time.
I didn't see any benefit for me.
But the more I read, the more I was seeing other people have success with Active Rain. So I decided to become more Active.
I started commenting on blogs I found of interest and value.
I eventually found my groove and began writing my own blogs. It wasn't easy at first, but the more I wrote the more ideas came to me to write another after another.
I entered a number of contests for motivation and it got me noticed in the Active Rain community.
I started to develop some relationships. I was connecting with other like minded people in the real estate world.
I'm a small scale real estate investor, not an agent, so I didn't have many people searching for me or my services.
My blogs were getting high rankings on Google thanks to Active Rain. I enjoyed writing and seeing myself move up the ladder in Active Rain and Google rankings.
My best blog was a compilation of past blogs that I had written for newbies.
Newbie tips. A list iof 14 tips to help get you started in Active Rain.
These were all things that I learned from other Active Rain members.
I appreciated the comments from others and I made it a point to reciprocate and comment on other blogs in return.
But from a business sense, there was very little benefit. I felt like I was just sliding on ice. My activity declined and I went AWOL......
A number of members noticed my absence and where kind enough to reach out to me and check in on me. There is a lot of compassion here. Active Rain is a great community with many benefits for people in the industry from agents to inspectors to home stagers and anyone else who is constantly seeking new clients in the real estate business.
For new members, GET ACTIVE. Take advantage of the tools available and the abundance of knowledge and help that is available here in Active Rain.
Don't be a lurker and don't go AWOL........
I have enjoyed my time in Active Rain but I feel it's time for me to move on.
Thank you to everyone that has given me support, encouragement and advice. There are too many to name individually. I would feel bad to mention names and miss just one.
