According to msn.com these are the 5 remodeling projects that have the best return.

1. Replace exterior siding.  This shows a major improvement in curb appeal and shows a average whopping retun of 78%!! 

2.  Replacing an exterior door is inexpensive, but pays back around 73%.

3.  Mid-range attic bonus room remodel.  More adult children are moving back home and baby boomers are once more looking for more space.  This remodeling job is more extensive, but the returns average 72.5%.

4.  Kitchen remodel still ranks in the top 5.  The returns come in around 72% when you give the kitchen a facelift by changing out hardware, replacing countertops, and sink.

5.  Midrange garage door replacement will net you 71%.  By replacing your existing garage door you add curb appeal and functionality which appeals to all homebuyers.

Becky, This is good information.  Some remodel jobs get you more bang for your buck than others.  The kitchen is always a sure bet, it gets a lot of focus in most sales!

I am surprised by the siding improvement.  My home had the attic area converted to lots of space so I do believe that one for sure!
