Glastonbury residents! How I got my CL&P credit.

I posted information on how you can get your CL&P credit a couple of days ago. I know December 7, 2011 is the first day you can apply for the credit. Also, I noted CL&P stated they would figure out if you qualify for the credit and would let you know however, I just didn't feel like I wanted to leave that to them. I figured they have alot on their plate right now with all the storm aftermath.

So I called 888-566-9257 from my cell phone.  My cell is registered on my account and the automated phone system recognized the phone I was calling form and was able to bring up my acount. Keep that in mind if you are using a phone that is not registered on your CL&P account, you will need to have your account number handy.

The automated system explained that in order to qualify, I would have needed to have been without power after noon on Nov 5.  Since my power wasn't restored until Nov 6 at 1:30am - I think I should qualify. Also, the credit will be between $100 and $200 dollars and will appear on my February 2012 statement.

So, I have made a note in my outlook calendar to remind me to look at my statement to see if in fact I received the credit and for how much I received.

Not sure what would make the credit $200 but I hope that is what I get.

Not having power from CL&P for 9 days was pretty difficult. But I learned a lot about being prepared when Irene came through and I have to say, I was pretty ready for Storm Alfred.

Hi Linda - this is great information to know!  I was "only" without power for four days.  It was a miserable time, but after we got it back and I still heard others saying they were still without, I didn't complain.  The $200 credit should be seen all over Farmington.  I know a number of folks there that were without power for 14 DAYS!!  Good luck with the credit!
