SantaPaws visits the Clackamas PetSmart again this year (I’ll be there!)

Once again, I will be participating in SantaPaws at the Clackamas PetSmart to help support a no kill animal shelter in Oregon City, Oregon. I love no kill animal shelters, but with no kill shelters comes added expense. Some of those expenses are higher food and medical bills, because a lot of animals that are dropped off have serious medical issues that the owners could no longer handle.

Todd Clark (Broker / Team Leader) SantaPaws in Clackamas

So, how am I helping?  Just like last year, I was contacted by Santa and was requested to assist him and be one of his authorized Santas that can fill in for him when he is unavailable. So, I’m going be Santa at this year’s event yet again Saturday December 10, 2012 from 11am - 4pm. (Hope to see you there)

I loved it so much last year that I had to do it again this year and knowing that it helps such a great cause. But, sometimes these fundraisers aren’t enough and this is where I am going to ask for your help. If you are unable to attend this event and would like to help, then please donate online to the Oregon Ferret Shelter and I promise the ferrets will thank you!

Todd,

So kind of you to volunteer as Santa for such a good cause, I picked my second puppy from the local shelter last year. May you have a great turn out.

I can't wait to be Santa again. It was so much fun last year, even the huge dogs that thought they were lap dogs were fun.

P.S. Did you see on FB my nephew just pulled a huge salmon out of the Washougal river this morning? He's a fishing nut. Loves it in any kind of weather! He shared the fish with us. It is super fresh! Whooohoo!

Todd,

You make a GREAT Sant's helper!!!

You also make a good point. With pet ownership comes responsibility. Dogs love their owners unconditionally and they they depend on their owners to take care of their medical needs. Can you imagine how painful it would be to go through life never having your toenails clipped? Or what about suffering from allergies or kidney problems, living with pain and suffering daily and not being able to tell anyone about it? Pets meed regular checks-ups and it costs money. Dogs don't just bark at strangers, like to be petted, and can survive on dried dog food (if they are lucky) and a bowl of water. Hygiene and medical attention is required too.

Your post is an excellent post of animal awareness.

Hi Todd - You make a wonderful Santa!  And What a great cause.  I am an animal lover and I hate the thought of sweet innocent animals being euthanized simply because they didn't get adopted within a short period of time.  We all have no kill pet sanctuaries and shelters in our areas, and what a great holiday gift it would be to donate a little extra to them to help with their expenses.
