Despite another lackluster year for real estate, 80% of homeowners still plan to buy again and 59% of renters still aspire to own their own homes.

Twice a year, we ask people across the U.S. (through an online survey conducted by Harris Interactive) If homeownership is still part of their personal American Dream along with a few other questions about the obstacles that are keeping them from buying at this time.

This past year has been filled with a series of unfortunate events – from the economy hovering on the edge of another  recession and a lackluster real estate market to politics that are making politics that are making people second guess their 2008 vote.

Food shelter and clothing. How can anyone say housing is going away? Its not only 1 of the big 3 its the most affordable its been in over 5 decades! Many thousands now have an opportunity to buy that could have never done so if the events did not bring in tis incredible opportunity.

Many will DELAY homeownership until they are out of school and settled.  I am seeing this with medical residents in our area for 2 to 3 years - they used to buy and now they are renting until they relocate to their final site of their medical practice or employment.
