On this 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, it is good to take a few minutes to remember what happened that day, and how it changed our lives. It was, after all, this attack which moved President Roosevelt and the Congress into declaring war on the Axis powers. It changed the lives of everyone who was in the country at the time.
There are many memorial meetings being held today, in remembrance of that event.
As more and more of the survivors are passing out of this life, a couple of things are happening. One is the report that as they die, some are having their remains returned to the ships (Utah & Arizona) to be with their fellow sailors (see article: Pearl Harbor Survivors Return) and the national association of survivors is closing down at the end of the month/year (Survivors Disband).
Take time to remember, and if you know someone who was there say "Thanks"!
