Ever have a silly thought you'd like to get an answer to? I was wondering if I could catch a lull in Florida traffic to photograph an empty causeway. This is a major highway so it took an hour to get this shot (but I finally got it - happy sigh). I'm on a scenic overlook freezing my bahookies off. I doubt I'll get another clear "carless" picture but it might be worth it if I can capture this scene during the sunset... I like the way the colors are mellowing out. The concrete is starting to get a rosy glow. Very cool to watch developing... ;-)

Well worth the wait. For us. Hope you found a Starbucks within walking distance.

It looks very pretty there.  Very unique to see a causeway without cars.  Nice job on grabbing that photo.

If I'm lucky I might get a dolphin out of the deal. I have a lot of highway to monitor (and zoom in and out on - LOL). Isn't this a gorgeous spot to hang out at? If you're gonna freeze you should at least do it with lots of eye candy to photograph. ;-)

Great picture, Tann!  Love it that you had that much patience, I'm sure I wouldn't!

Linda, I've discovered that if I give myself a reasonable personal deadline to get the shot or move on I do much better. I've realized some shots are worth a longer wait than others. It's very subjective but can be quite fun. I missed the one I really wanted to capture tonight but I may be able to frame something cool and useful tomorrow when I go back in the morning during my jog. :-)

C...

I have often waited over an hour for a shot ... waiting for people to walk away or for the sun to peek out from behind the clouds.

But in the end, the picture makes it all worthwhile!

Richard, I do know what you mean (LOL). I'm thinking I should go wander about and see what kind of photographic mischief I can get into. The water views are stunning. There are train tracks running just a few feet from the ocean...

Hello little sister ... I know this post is very old, but it has been very difficult for me to keep track of my 30 different groups at AR. I have been deleting many of my groups that haven't had a post written to them in over one year. I am going to keep this one around for a while and thanks for keeping it alive ...
