Being a Grandparent......

St Anne Christmas

One of the joys of being a grandparent is the yearly pageants put on by the schools.

This years extravaganza was last night.  It was a musical and the fact that all the students had practiced a lot was very apparent.

Perhaps the behavior of the music director outshone the kids.  She was animated and had incredible energy.  The kids clearly loved what they were doing.  She had inspired them to perform well.

There was a lot of creativity displayed and some comical moments.

Seeing all these children participating in an inspirational event was another of the fun spots in the Christmas Season.

Being a grandparent means only going to see the performance.  No longer do we have to haul the kids to rehearsals, make costumes, create refreshments or serve them.  That was all a delight of days past. Now just showing up is a privilege with no pressures.  Growing older does have some advantages!

Jean and Ralph, I am with you on the Grandparent thing. If my oldest grand-daughter finds a husband, there could be great-grand-children in the wings within 5 years, maybe.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year

Enjoy every moment of it, you deserve it. Some folks never get grandkids and worse yet some choose not to enjoy their grandkids.

Taking a step back, holding your tongue and your breath and letting your children do their job as parents is not easy but, as a grand parent  being a good mentor, now there is a thought!
