The first out of three workshops about the USS Midway Museum’s suggestion for a new park space at the Navy Pier Park was held the other day and there were a couple of different opinions discussed.
As many of you already know…the proposal includes a 500 foot high wing sculpture to be located at the tip right before the water line in the Marina District. A few participants were positive to the suggestion and thought that the sculpture could become an icon image for Downtown San Diego while other were more on the negative path on saying that the sculpture would be outrageous.
There are still two more meetings to follow and it will be interesting to hear the continued arguments about the pros and cons about the sculpture. The meetings will take place on Tuesday, December 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. over at the Port Administration Building in theColumbia District.
