Drum roll please . . . . . . . . . . . ba-dump!  I made it!  This post pushes me over 200,000 points.  Yea!  I'd like to thank the academy, my parents, the dog who has patiently waited for breakfast while I blogged, my wife who is sleeping and doesn't care that I'm blogging, all of my English teachers who wrote, "Mike could do better.  He isn't applying himself, but if he ever does . . .", the AR gods who have featured my blogs and bumped me up in points, the wonderful AR readers who also added to my points by commenting and re-blogging and suggesting my posts, and . . . . . .

In all sincerity, blogging not only has been fun, it has opened so many new avenues for me that I'm literally awestruck.  My wife tried for years to get me to blog, but I always said I didn't have time.  She set up a WordPress site for me and it still sits dormant.  Active Rain was a better start for me since it is more interactive.  Let give you a list of some of the benefits I've received since March 2011:

  • Multiple client contacts due to local posts - 5
  • Referrals from other AR members - 3
  • Members who have contacted me for advice - 12
  • Members who have contacted me with advice - 10
  • Interviews with national real estate related companies - 2
  • Requests from other online media to re-post my blogs - 3
  • Requests from local media to re-publish my blogs - 1
  • Requests from news media for me to write a regular column - 1
  • Contacts from banks asking for my opinion after reading my posts - 3
  • Contacts from major US companies asking for my opinion after reading my posts - 2
  • Customers who found me through the Internet, mostly AR - 2
  • A participant to our 12 Hour Pedal for the Cure - 1 - Andrea Bedard
  • Friends made through AR - a lot - priceless

Thank you to all who read my blog, subscribe and leave encouraging comments.  Also, thanks to all who have emailed with advice, notice of boo-boos in my blogs, and ideas that would make my blog more attractive and readable.  And, thanks for those who have called and shared their lives with me.  You all ROCK!

Mike:

Congratulations!  Reaching 200,000 points is a great milestone. I pasted 200,000 point in November.  It is a good feeling.
