Have you read “Unbroken”?
I try to read an average of a book a week. Fortunately, my wife Dolores keeps me supplied with great books. Recently, Dolores read “Unbroken” (2010) by Laura Hillenbrand and suggested it to me. It is an excellent book, and I recommend it for your holiday reading list.
“#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER hailed by TIME magazine as the best nonfiction book of the year.
“STAGGERING … MESMERIZING … Any one of the threads in Hillenbrand’s monumental new book could be a page-turner all its own… Hillenbrand’s writing is so ferociously cinematic, the events she describes so incredible, you don’t dare take your eyes off the page.”–People
On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared. It was that of a young lieutenant, the plane’s bombardier, who was struggling to a life raft and pulling himself aboard. So began one of the most extraordinary odysseys of the Second World War.”

We visited Colonial Williamsburg over the Thanksgiving Holidays. It is a wonderful time of the year to visit the area. Photograph by Roy Kelley using a Canon PowerShot G11 camera.
