Mark, your post is such an excellent approach to clients looking to use your services. And maybe the result of a recent experience :) Much continued success to you!
Mark, being honest and to the point is the best way to deal with clients. If you are not, they run you and who will run your business? Great Post.
Mark * If they want to micro-manage, they don't need me. A few years ago, I had a new client e-mail me a print classified ad she wanted run. I told her that no where in my 20 page management proposal did I indicate I would run PRINT ads and that her property key was in the mail BACK to her
Micromanaging any professional is a bad idea. Let them do their job. You are certainly a mater of property management.
Mark - Do you give this to the property owners you manage for? I'm curious the response you've received from them.
I wrote this blog with the idea of sharing a link to it with new clients. It is amazing to me the number of folks that seem to think that they know our business better than we do and are so comfortable "sharing" their "opinion". We simply don't have free time available to chat on the phone repeatedly. We are too busy performing the task we were hired to do.
Mark,
Good point. Again, getting the right clients is key. If they trust us to do our jobs, we can make it happen.
All the best, Michelle
We have the same problems, and have dropped Owners because they couldn't leave things in our hands.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you Mark, hopefully we will all see a great 2012.
Would love to tell our clients to back off. I have a couple I should replace this year.
Love it Mark! Great job on the market presence. It is great to lease a home before it even goes on the market!
I had to REvisit this FEATURED post in the Property Management group....I've turned down 3 would-be clients who want to MICROmanage - thanks for the reminder!
Well said! This is a great post
