Horse-Drawn Carriages in Cartagena

A friend of mine is working and traveling in Colombia.  He WAS in Thailand.  What a life, huh?  I thought that it would be good to share some pictures of his travels.  I'd love for other people to get to see some of the things he is seeing.  I will post everything from everyday life stuff to architecture in hopes to share a bit of Colombia with those that have never been.

Horse-Drawn Carriages in Cartagena

This is a picture of one of the many horse drawn carriages that roam the streets of Cartagena at night.  For roughly the equivilent of $25 USD, you can tour the city riding in one these wonderful carriages and hear all about the different historical sites (in Spanish, of course).  The whole tour lasts for about an hour and will leave you feeling wonderful.  If you ever find yourself in Cartagena, Colombia, give it a try!

What a great picture! Thanks for sharing! $25 for an hour tour sounds like such a deal!! I believe it would be a great way to tour the city! I have been on a few horse drawn carriage rides and loved them!

Hi Carissa - That's a lovely photo. I was in Cartegena many years ago - it's a very interesting city with a rich history and and incredible fortress where all the gold from the new world was stored before it was shipped back to Spain.

Carissa, It does sound like a great way to see the city of Cartagena!  I have never been to Columbia, but I do like seeing other places!

Why would any city need cars, when they have elegant transportation like that:-)  I can imagine you would learn a lot about the city traveling in the back of that carriage.
