Local Blog, Eastern Connecticut

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage

There has been some discussion of late regarding the start of a blog for the members of the Eastern Connecticut Association of REALTORS.  Not that Active Rain in not a great place to communicate, the thought is to start something on a local level.  Thoughts from ECAR members are encouraged, as well as comments from others across the country who also login to their local board's blog.

Paul,  Your comment of having a more local Blog is truely needed but I am not sure if this resource would actually be used by most of the professionals. Maybe you can expand on the benifits....

Thanks for your input Mary Ann, (ECAR Member). The benefit of a blog site for the local professionals is to discuss what works, and what may not, here in Eastern Connecticut.  For example, while the real estate professionals in most of America have indicated that they use very little newspaper advertising, and rely mostly on the web for the biggest bang for their advertising buck, we continue to advertise in The Day's Friday supplement. Another issue that works in different ways in different places is feedback.  There has been an ongoing debate in the E-Pro circles about the pros and cons of feedback, some insisting that it is absolutely a requirement, and just the right thing to do. Others feel just as strongly that the only feedback you need is the offer.  That is, simply, if you don't get an offer, the feedback is the buyer did not like the property. A bit cold maybe, but then again different things work in different areas.
