I am considering doing a mass mailout and I need some advice and ideas on where to start. I considered introducing myself to the neighborhood in which I live. I have lived here 3 years now and never did a mass mailing in the area mostly because I know there are at least 2 or 3 other people that in the area that are Realtors as well.

A realtor that I work with and myself farm the neighborhood we live in.  We have been doing it for a couple of years now and we are starting to get good results.

What's in it for them?  Ask yourself before mailing anything.  Why should they care? why should they look at your postcard or read your letter?  Give them something interesting that they will find of value and read (good), keep (better) or talk about (best).  If you are stuck speak to their needs - what is causing them pain and how can you provide a solution?

Welcome to ActiveRain, Tammy! GO PACK GO! If it's not too cold there yet, I would print up a small newsletter introducing yourself along with some real estate info and deliver it as you doorknock. That way you get to meet some of your neighbors, see the neighborhood up close, and get a little exercise.
