I'm flipping out........
Ok, not really but I do have random thoughts and musing going on in my head. I had two calls today to be interviewed. The first call was from Andrew Gmerek, RE/MAX Times, Associate Editor. RE/MAX Times is a quarterly newspaper that is published in 15 countries. He wanted to speak with me about technology.
"Who me? Everything I know, for the most part I learned on Activerain."
Andrew, "We all read your blog here and I just found you on Facebook".
Missy, "Did you friend request me?"
Andrew, "No not yet, I just signed up."
Missy, "I am using two new apps now to post my listings on, one is CribFinder and one is LivePads. This summer I got lots of lead from posting my listings for rent on Facebook."
Andrew, "Do you ever find technology overwhelming?"
Missy, "Heck no, I love it!" Activerain has taken me from page 49 and beyond to page one and two of Google for the search terms I want to be found on." I seriously love technology, I've said it before but it is so true, if I was 30 years younger, I would work for Google, even if it meant serving in the cafeteria."
Andrew, "Do you get any business from it?"
Missy, "Yes, I have had one closing from a consumer who read my blog, one house listed from a consumer reading my blog, one listing coming up in a week or so plus one buyer referral from Activerain closed and two more in the pipeline."
Andrew, "What other thing do you like"?
Missy, "My tablet P.C. it is great for listing appointments, checking the MLS in the field, and using Zip forms to write offers on or listing contracts."
Second phone call a few minutes later, a guy named John Turk, from Eastern Michigan University, a Journalism major doing an article on blogging.
I asked him how did you find me? and he said "I Googled Ann Arbor Blogs and you came right up". YES !!
So I told him how blogging had increased my SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and all the posts I read on Activerain told me what to do with alt tags, H1 headers, key words, anchor text etc. had transformed my main web site. I had this site since 1999, a Number1 Expert site and it was buried in Google until Activerain.
At the end of the conversation I had him ready to go sign up for his first blog.
