Tub + Falling = Albuquerque Urgent Care Visit Falling Getting Into Tub = Albuquerque Urgent Care Visit John McCormack

Last night it  was time to walk Dixie our dog.  My wife stayed home saying she was heading for a long soak and enjoy the tub jets.  My phone rings, I’ve fallen I can’t get up, can you come home now?  Needless to say I was home in a flash. Sure enough Debbie had fallen while stepping into the deep garden tub.

We assessed the situation.  My thinking was to head to the nearest Albuquerque Emergency or Urgent Care!  After much discussion and examining the injuries Debbie decided to rough the night out with ice packs, elevation and a couple of funny pills.  We’ve spent the morning in one of Albuquerque's Urgent Care.  No broken bones but foot is badly bruised, swollen, sprained and hurting.  Debbie will be sporting an air-boot for the holidays.  Lesson # 1 be very careful when getting into a tub!  Lesson # 2 Don’t get in a tub while home alone!

My wife is getting handicapped hand rails on the garden tub for Christmas she just doesn’t know it yet!

John,

We are happy it all turned out well, and Debbie can make a new fashion statement with an air boot with a festive bow or two. A

John give Debbie a hug for me - so glad she is okay!  As someone who is a bath lover too you definitely have to be careful in the bathroom.  I took a bad fall myself this summer.

Goodness something that was to be so soothing turned into not being so. Maybe you two should consider tubbing together. :0). Glad it was not worse and I agree with comment #5. A festive bow for her boot would be wonderful

Hi John, Wow, sorry to hear that your wife took a major spill. Glad she didn't sustain any other injuries. I think the handrails are a great idea for every tub because anyone can slip.

Hi John, sorry to hear that Debbie got injured.  No matter what age we need hand rails for support when it comes to tubs and showers.  Hope she is feeling better and soon.

John,

I am glad it wasn't a fracture, although a bad sprain can hurt as bad!  Make sure she has plenty of funny pills, this sounds like a great time to practice better living through chemistry.  Awesome to get rails, those are always a good idea.  Give her a hug and some bells and bows, it is still a great holiday season.

John, so happy your sweet wife is okay except for having to wear the airboot!  Our tub is really deep and I am always concern about getting in and out.  I'm almost ready to have a new one installed.....the tub that you can just walk into, as seen on TV :)

Hello my AR friends!  Thank each of you for expressing your concerns for my lovely wife, she too express her appreciation for your kindness.  She is doing much better by keeping her foot elevated and on ice, the air boot is major help when walking.  She will just fine and dancing a jig in no time.  It did scare me, walking in and seeing her hurt. As you have all said it could easily have been worse and were thankful it was not!  Yall are awesome!  Thanks for caring and sharing!

Thank you

That could have been so much worse, as you well know.  I am glad that you were close enough to get there quickly, and, oh, I don't want to even think about it.
