OK...good you're back! Today we're going to focus on MONEY! Now don't go getting all crazy because this exercise is NOT going to be one that you get down to crunching nitty gritty numbers and all that stuff. Yes - I do the math but my main way of getting to what I intend to earn this year is very simple.
Take out a check and write out what you want to make in 2012. Seriously. Just Do it. A long time coach/friend of mine showed me this neat little trick years ago. At first I thought it was kind of lame - really I did. But after the first year or two of writing out those checks to myself and meeting or exceeding my VISON I became a tried and true believer.
Your Homework Today: How much would you like to earn in 2012? Now I'd like to say think big AND..... I also know that it's important to look back on your previous year and and evaluate what is realistic. Some may say - oh don't do that - you'll hold yourself back. But not me...I've seen many agents make pie in the sky money goals and they never make them come true. Why? Because they're pie in the sky folks and they're not willing to do what it takes day to day, week to week to make the goal a reality. So be honest with yourself - really honest. If you want to increase your earnings by 25% or 50% then what are you willing to do to make that happen? Clearly it will need to look different than last year, right? What number feels right to you? Once you've given it some thought - Write out a check to you, date it 12/31/2012 and sign your name. This is your commitment to you. Believe it. See it. Expect it. Put your check in a place where you'll see it every day for the next year. Keep it on your top of mind awareness and if you do the work that you need to do consistently it will happen. It works if you work!
