As a member of the Sacramento Association of Realtors I have been impressed by the speakers at the monthly main meeting. However, the regional meetings have been hit and miss as far as speakers go. That is, until one of my agents told me about the Midtown Forum.
Formed by a Midtown Realtor, this forum has had councilmen, builders, assessors, an appraisor and best of all the Sacramento Bee's real estate reporter, Jim Wasserman as featured speakers. Jim's honest approach to the group resulted in a very open dialogue about broadening his source base to more than a handful of Realtors and brokers. I got the impression Jim finds real estate a fascinating topic with endless angles from which to approach.
The group of agents and affiliates who attend the forum are passionate about the positive changes in the Downtown and Midtown areas of Sacramento. The meetings are held the 2nd -5th Tuesday of each month from 9am-10am followed by a tour of Midtown properties. One of our most recent tours included several infill project. During the last several months I have gotten to know some of the best and most knowledgeable Realtors in the area during our "introduce yourself" portion of the meeting.
Whether you operate in Midtown Sacramento or another market, I encourage you to get involved in a weekly forum with other realtors to exchange information regarding upcoming listings and buyer needs. The networking and educational opportunities are inmeasurable.
