Take off with the hover bike
Certainly anyone who's ever seen Star Wars even once has dreamt of taking off on a hover bike. Chis Malloy has been working hard to make these dreams reality.
Hover dreams
Hover bike developer Chris Malloy wasn't satisfied with normal motorcycles. He wanted to fly, to not be dependent on the flow of traffic. Seeing as how the technology for "Back to the future"'s hover board is still a bit out of reach, he has dedicated his time to developing a machine he calls the hover bike.
Technical specifications
Two enclosed propellors boasting 80 kw each power the hover bike. The inventor says that his machine should be capable of speeds of over 100 km/h at a height of up to 3 kilometers when final testing is completed.
At a weight of 110 kg, the Hover Bike is listed in the ultralight category, and therefore requires no operating license. A copy of the current prototype can be purchased or the price of around 25,000 Euros.
It's my belief that Chris may have derived inspiration from the Parrot AR.Drone Quadricopter Controlled by Apple's iPhone,iPod touch, or iPad (pictured below)
I'm not sure the world is ready for the Hover Bike, but it sure looks like fun!
