A couple of super windy days have broken the tether holding up the name rider. It is dangling by a single connection. Another couple of windy days and the name rider smashes through the 'By Appointment Only,' rider. Now it looks really bad. The seller probably doesn't have the right tool to fix it, and they certainly don't have a new rider. So there the sign stands, very damaged.
I drove by a sign like this today. This is a property that has been on the market for a while.
Guess what? It is going to be on the market for a lot longer! It looks like it has been 'abandoned' as a listing. It is on a main street, too.
They say that our signs are one of our best marketing tools. If you can get a listing, you are advertising to everyone who goes by the house. Well, the opposite is true too; if you have an unkempt sign and your name is on it, it will act as the opposite of marketing...people will remember your name, but as someone that they DON'T want to call to list their home.
If you are a listing agent, I will leave you with a final thought: Have you gone by to check on your listing lately?
