Secret Recipe Revealed - Curry Pâté
Have you ever noticed how some of the simplest "recipes" are the biggest hits? My wife and I were invited to a New Year's Eve Party when we first moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, back in 1985, and while there were all kinds of fancy treats, the biggest hit was a spread consisting of a block of cream cheese with chili sauce poured over it! : ) The following recipe calls for a bit more than that, but it is still quite easy.
Aunt Dorothy's Curry Pâté
8 oz. cream cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar
1/2 tsp. curry
2 Tbsp. dry sherry
1 cup sliced green onions (tops and bottoms)
1 jar Chutney
Cream the cheeses, curry, and sherry until smooth. Spread on platter or pan 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Layer of chopped onion, then chutney, then remaining green onions on top. Serve with crackers.
