Big Al's, Beaverton, OR

John is indeed correct and this is Big Al's on Barrows Rd. in Beaverton. Located in the Progress Ridge neighborhood that is right on the border of Tigard and Beaverton, this area has been booming for a couple of years now. When I lived on Bull Mountain back in 2005, they were just building the many condos, townhomes and apartments. Fast forward to 2011 and Big Al's opened up..as well as Cinetopia, and New Seasons.

Big Al's is a place to take go to enjoy bowling, arcade games and a large sports bar and grill. if you want to make day of it, you can start off at Big Al's for some Bowling and games and then head over to Cinetopia for a movie. Oh..and did I mention that Big Al's is not just for bowling and arcade games?...it also has a huge restaurant, private rooms for parties and business meetings as well as lounges for those 21 and over. I know my husband came home one day after having a business meeting here, and he said it was pretty cool. Now..like most bowling places, you can get full service food and drinks at the lanes. Thankfully, unlike bowling alleys of the past, this one is clean, open, and completely smoke free..YES!

I was going to make a video, and did get some pretty good footage...the only thing is that this was a last minute swerve into the parking lot, and I was not "packin" my camera. Hey...I figured my new fancy phone would do just the trick...right? Well..note to self, when taking video, hold the camera in a "camera like" way instead of like a phone. My videos all came out sideways..LOL. Live and learn! So, here are some pictures that I took. Note that it was pretty dark in there, so even if I did have my coolpix camera...they would be dark as well.

This place looks like fun, I might have to dust off my bowling ball and shoes!

Do you get a cool prize at the end of the year for the most correct answers? Clever idea to tie in with other products!

Hi Cindy,

I have a VERY good guess, but feel I should spare revealing the answer so early in the game ;-)  I'll post it on fb too!

Hi Cindy,

I can't even imagine what it is, but it sure is great looking. My first thought was a firestation, but I'm sure that's not correct.

Cindy,

You inadvertantly had the street address on the building. Its Big Al's Bowling at 14950 SW Barrows Road in Beaverton, OR. They have two other locations, one in Vancouver and another in eastern OR.

Hi Patricia, it sure is big enough to hold several fire engines..and some of the sounds inside would certainly wake any sleeping fireman.

Hi Kat, I probably should have put in one more picture...but looks like John is claiming this one..and frankly I'm amazed that he was able to even SEE those numbers on the building!

Hi John, man, do you have some really good eyes!! I knew they were there, but figured hey...if anyone could see those numbers that that would help. Big Al's looks like much fun. The young lady at the front desk says it get's pretty packed on the weekend...I can see why. Thanks for posting this on FB...maybe next year I'll offer something for the winnings like Cheryl mentioned.

Hi Cindy,

Not interested in prizes :-) I knew there could only be a couple of streets where the numbers went as high as 14950. I love your dedication to WIIW and I'm just happy to play along! Hope you have a great night!

I saw the street number on the building also (had to use a magnifying glass), but then I couldn't figure out what street it was, so I finally gave up.  The Wednesday mysteries are fun!.

Hi John, For some reason, I knew you would say that! :) It's been challenging to keep up on it some weeks. I need to spend just one day ..preferably when the sun is shining to just go out and about and take lots of pictures of different areas so I have some back up. You've been a dedicated commenter and helper in this..so a HUGE THANK YOU!!!
