Sorry, Jeff. No disrespect intended at all. But that’s how I felt when your wife Rocky thought something I wrote was good enough for her Mothers Fighting For Others blog.
I will admit that I don’t feel worthy to be there. I mean, take a look at their writers page! It starts with Rocky Turner and Julie Ferenzi, the founders of the site. (You might know them both as AR members – and if you don’t, you should.)
But look through the rest of them! I don’t know them yet, but they are survivors, authors, activists, heroes – they are all changing the world! Keep scrolling, and down there at the bottom is little old me. Perhaps I’m comic relief. ;o) I tell myself at least I can be the “mother” part, and maybe the others are the “fighters”.
But I bet the more I read, the more I’ll get riled up. It usually doesn’t take much, and if you mess with someone who can’t stand up for themselves I’ll want to step in. I expect that the more I learn, the more I’ll want to change the world myself. I’m going to pay attention and see how I change as I go along. I think I’m about to build a better me.
Rocky, thank you for this opportunity.
