I really really want to head outside and watch the meteor shower. Small problem... I think it's raining. Kind of hard to see the show if you can't even see the stars. Drat. That happened to us during the last reported showing of the Northern Lights too. I have the telescope set up, but unless I want to see the clouds I'm probably out of luck.
Sometimes doing the simple things like watching the starts is good for the soul. Especially on those deep thinking kind of days.
I always think of the children when I look at the skies. They have fantasies of jumping on the stars and walking on the moon. It seems like it should be that simple too, doesn't it? Kind of takes the thinking days to a whole new level.
Instead of meteors I'm in finishing my blog posting, commenting and learning. My calendar is sitting out before me and I'm contemplating changes that need to take place in the next year.
In some ways Real Estate has been like a meteor shower the last few years. Prices soaring to all time lows... Interest rates soaring to all time lows.... Commissions soaring to all time lows (based on sale price).... you get the drift.
Sitting in reflection of what we've seen in the marketplace causes some deep thinking and pondering.
Taking time to set things in order is not just a gesture but a necessity to thrive...
*) Planning my marketing to the last detail.
*) Learning new technologies and utilizing services that they offer.
*) Keeping tabs with buyers and sellers at every juncture.
*) Staying in tune with supporting businesses and their changes (lenders, inspectors, appraisers, title officers).
*) Finding creative ways to promote who you are and what you do.
*) Setting that dreaded budget and sticking with it.
And, perhaps most importantly, not losing sight of who you are in the process.
Our clients, our businesses, and our finances are of utmost importance BUT the heart of who we are is even moreso.
Taking the time to be accountable to who I am and who I want to be can be strategic and important on any level. So, if I report daily as to my goals and how they are coming along there is a purpose. Be it weight maintenance, physical goals, work goals, giving goals, or tracking my bucket lists.
The new year is right around the corner and the next year I am anticipating some great changes! This time of preparation prior to the 1st is crucial and I am appreciating every day and every moment.
The minutes that I have to:
*) Get my seller prices in order.
*) Get my buyer leads caught up, straightened out and headed in the right directions.
*) Think about the blogging direction I want to focus on in the next year.
*) Getting filing put away and the drawers ready for the next bunch of paperwork to pass through my drawers.
*) Conversations that I'm having in effort to network and organize the next month's marketing tactics.
It's day in and day out (kind of like breathing). And, it is good to stop and see what I am truly accomplishing.
