WOW December and Christmas just snuck up on me I managed to send Christmas cards and deliver gifts to my Century 21 clients but as for my immediate household...I am running waaaay behind!
The cookie cutters and baking recipes are still tucked away in the cabinets. This week has been filled with business and some fun, playing Santa visiting clients and vendors. Needless to say I have not done any baking or made it to the grocery store yet!
I am usually a very good planner but this year I have been pressed for time and it has felt like I have been rushing since August. November was extremely busy and I before I knew it Thanksgiving was here!
While everyone else was in the grocery store or at home already making their cornbread dressing, I was focused on getting a clear to close to be able to finalize three real estate closings on Thansgiving Eve! My husband got the last smoked turkey from Honey B Ham before they closed at 5:00 on Thanksgiving Eve. As we sat around the dinner table Thanksgiving day, my son was disappointed that I forgot the "jellied cranberry sauce" and I laughed and and I told him "gimme a break you are lucky I pulled off a holiday dinner with little time arriving home from the grocery store at 7pm on Thanksgiving Eve!"
December seems to be following the same busy timeline with business. All of a sudden instead of visions of sugarplums dancing in my head, I envision myself in the same situation flashing back to Thanksgiving---shopping at the grocery store down to the wire on Christmas Eve! I know everything will come together and I will move into fast motion to pull it off. Hopefully I won't have to fight any little old ladies for the "last holiday ham" like in this scene from Christmas with the Krunks!
My son loves HAM I've got to get a Holiday Ham to Bake!!
All in all, I count myself blessed to have had a record real estate year and as I reach for each trimming to add to our holiday dinner table Christmas Day, I will remember to be thankful for everything....including buyers, sellers, ham and jellied cranberry sauce!
