What would you advise?

A very nice woman that works in my building stopped and asked me for some advice today. Because this isn't my area I told her I would ask the A.R. community.

She and her husband once owned a vacant lot in the Pocinos and took the option to trade it in on a time share in the same development. Now after years of keeping up the maintenance on this time share and not using it she would like to either move the time share option to a Texas development or trade the time share for land in the same development.

What would you advice? Should she move her interest into land or another time share? Tax implications?

The woman who asked the question will be monitoring your answers.

George, the picture on this post is coming true and nobody is chiming in. I'd post this into an investments group but can't find one. Do you have any other ideas of what groups I can post to in order to get some response?

Dena, post it in the Mortgage Group, one of them might also have a financial back ground, it can't hurt.

Hey Dena,  wow.  I have no idea.  Would a 1031 guy know?  janeAnne told me about a guy named Matt in the Eco group that knows quite a bit.  Maybe he would have an idea.  I don't really understand the whole time share stuff.  Sorry.
