This Christmas let's all focus on what we have to be thankful for rather than what we have to complain about.

Our homes, they may not be worth what they were but we still need them just the same. They keep us dry in the rain, warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Whither we own the home we live in or are renting it most of have more comforts in our homes than kings did just a few generations ago.

Our cars, they beat having to walk or ride a horse everywhere we go. Today's least expensive cars are more comfortable than the transportation of years ago. Even if we have to take the bus or train it is better than what they had years ago.

We have plenty to eat, clothes on our backs and shoes on our feet.

Our health for those of us who are healthy. There are plenty of people who would give every last dime they have to get well. They would be happy to start from scratch with nothing but good health.

For those of us with jobs be thankful we have the opportunity and health to work and provide for ourselves and family rather than gripping about having to go to work.

The love we have in our family. I am much more excited about our son coming home from college to visit and my parents, brother, aunt and uncle coming over Christmas morning breakfast than what is under the tree.

Christmas lunch at Mom and Dads house with family. The memories of past Christmas dinners at my grandparents house. I miss them but am thankful for the memories. My grandmother has been gone almost 16 years but I can still tell you what we had for Christmas dinner every year at her house.

Our friends, I know I have plenty of friends that love me and I love them. I know if I need them they will be there for me and I would do anything I could to help them.

If we just look around we can see that we have more to be thankful for than we do to grumble about.

Most of all what Jesus Christ has done for us. After all Christmas is to celebrate his birth. It is not about the gifts we give each other.

Merry Christmas and God Bless you all.
