If you haven't yet finished your shopping, take a look at these fantastic, locally made, mittens by Angie Fodey of "Naturally sMITTen" in Lansdowne. I purchased two pairs for gifts but I know I'll be back for more - they really are a wonderful gift item for everyone on your list!
They are all handmade from recycled materials such as old wool sweaters for the outer layer and a fuzzy warm fleece for the interior liner. The liners are removable, which makes for faster drying times too.
Angie Fodey, the owner of Naturally sMITTen, says,
"I'm not being biased when I say that 'these are the warmest mittens you will ever wear'. I'm also a fan of how unique each pair is, due to the patterns on the wool that I use."
The mittens come in 2 sizes and can now be found in stores in Montreal, Ottawa, Merrickville, Kingston and Toronto and of course Gananoque too, at Steel, 21 King St East, Gananoque (613-449-4359)
Or, you can buy them directly from Angie Fodey, owner of Naturally sMITTen
You know how much I love sharing secrets about our local shops and businesses in Gananoque, so this is also a shout out for Shannon Yates of Steel:
Steel is a shop that one would normally associate with Toronto or Montreal but can be found in the heart of downtown Gananoque (attached to The Socialist Pig Coffee House)
They carry the latest trends sure to please the most fashion forward person on your list so make a point of stopping by Steel before or after Christmas and enjoying a coffee or cocoa at The Socialist Pig too! Be sure to tell them Susan Emo, Your Gananoque Realtor, sent you!
Just take a look at what these amazing business owners did for Christmas this year . . .
Get yourself down to Gananoque and embrace all that our town has to share - and remember, people come for a visit and stay for a lifetime - just ask the owners of these fantastic businesses!!
PS Julie Andrews can't be wrong . . .
