December's Season of Celebrations and Sharing
Noches De Las Luminarias
The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is a magnificent source of awe and wonder any time of year.
The Christmas Season is made special by the addition of over 8,000 luminaria lighting the pathways through the extensive gardens. This is an Hispanic tradition, lighting the way for weary travelers this season. The Gardens celebrate Christmas traditions from around the world, all with a backdrop of magnificent desert plants. We have much to be thankful for in this season and this display enables us to appreciate our world.
This year, there are ten different acts showcased throughout the garden, making the four hours the Gardens are open each night this season far too few to enjoy all the delights.
Two Jazz Combos, a Mariachi Band, A Barbershop Quartet, Christmas Carolers, A splendid Flamenco Guitarist accompanied by a Violinist of equal skills from Spain, A Bluegrass Group, an Apache Story Teller and more.
Great food in the Buffet, Lots of bars throughout the gardens provided hot chocolate and liquid holiday spirits.
David Rogers' “Big Bugs” are a featured exhibit at present, they are demonstrations of marvelous craftsmanship.
