Recently, we were at an event in Manassas across the railroad tracks from the train station. As i looked out the third floor window I noticed a single individual waiting for a train. I immediately thought of the old country western song, The Lonesome Rider.

Karen, how interesting. I noticed a few more things in that photo - a phone booth on the left and a water tower? on the right - two things I haven't seen in a while. And, that guy doesn't look like he has a coat on. Very interesting photo.

Juli The station is a historic site maintaineded as it was when it was built ovre 100 years ago. The interior has not changed. It still has the old telegrapher's office completely refurbished. Both the outdoor telephone booth and mailbox are historic pieces that still work and are used.

Toni It was built in 1904, burned down in 1912 and rebuilt in 1914. In 1997 it was fully restored to its' original comfiguration. There are two waiting rooms, probably due to segregation at the time - it is both a working station and museum.and a very popular place
