South Central PA Singles Dances:

I get occasional requests for more information about the events listed in the Red Rose Singles newsletters.  Here's a recent one one asking about the singles dances. Although a number of Red Rose Singles members attend these dances, they are sponsored and organized by New Singles.

"Hope you don't mind my writing to you in regards to the dances listed on this site. I would like to know the approximate ages of the attendees. Also are there "singles" or is it mostly couples? I'm hoping the object of these dances is to meet a lot of different people and have an enjoyable evening. Would you recommend any of these dances better than others?

There's quite a range of ages at these dances, but they tend to run from the late 30s through the 70s.  Most are there as singles, but some come together as (unmarried) couples.  There are three  "Paul Jones" mixers each dance, where you get to dance with perhaps five new partners for about 30 seconds each, so in an evening you can get to meet perhaps 15 new people every dance you go to. 

The object of these dances indeed is to meet a lot of different people and have an enjoyable evening.  The more dances you go to, the more friends you make, and it becomes easier and more fun.
