2011 December Blogging Challenge-Day 18 - Loose Ends

Sunday, December 18 -- and just where has the month gone? An incipient cold changed my day around, quite dramatically. Instead of hiking in the glorious hillsides of Marin County, I spent most of my day bundled in sweaters and blankets, sipping coffee and limeade while reading The Poinsonwood Bible - the second part is becoming quite riveting, seeing how the women of the family are changing in thoughts and deeds.

On the business front, I had time to:

  • catch up on my emails;
  • read and comment on Active Rain, and write a post or two;
  • research possible rentals (hard to find in our area, and rents are high) for an individual referred to me by friends and contact her about them;
  • send information on a new listing to a potential 2012 buyer, just to stay in touch;
  • audit my business records for the year to date and decide whether or not to make another partial IRA contribution at this time
  • also took a stab at my fourth-quarter estimated taxes so I could make my state payment in 2011 (I'm all for accelerating deductions and postponing income at this time of year.)
  • do my usual weekly recap and plan of next week's activities as well as my time awareness review and computer back up.

It feels good to get some of the loose ends wrapped up, knowing I'll start my new week organized, at least with my business activities. But, I guess I really can't delay gift shopping for my family much longer. And we need a tree. But as least the lights are up!

  • catch up on my emails;
  • read and commented on Active Rain posts--inspired as I often am
  • write a post or two;
  • research possible rentals (hard to find in our area, and rents are high) for an individual referred to me by friends and contacted her about them;
  • send information on a new listing to a potential 2012 buyer, just to stay in touch;

It feels good to get some of the loose ends wrapped up, knowing I'll start my new week organized, at least with my business activities. But, I guess I really can't delay gift shopping for my family much longer. Lights are up, but more to be done.

Lottie, it's too bad you can't go hiking today since it's a beautiful one! Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hi Jayne - it's gray and cloudy in San Francisco and Mt. Tam area. Thanks for your good wishes--I'm fine and after reading some AR posts this morning, feeling much more inspired and grateful.

Lottie it sounds like you got a tremendous amount done to be under the weather. I love cleaning up all those straggling loose ends, but sometimes it's just hard to get around to doing it!
