Colors of Autumn in Colonial Williamsburg

The holiday decorations in Colonial Williamsburg will always get your attention. They are are made from natural materials and follow traditional designs of the 18th century. Preparing the decorations is an all year long effort and they are refreshed daily between Thanksgiving and New Year's.

More dried arrangements are used in locations with lots of sun and fresh materials are used more on the shady sides of the streets. Squirrels and birds are alert for the new materials.

Please share photographs from your favorite locations in the comments for this post.

Best wishes to all for a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hi Roy, it is so beautiful in Williamsburg and everything always looks so fresh.   They must be very busy behind the scenes to keep it looking that way.  Enjoy your evening.

Hi Roy - The soft colors of the flowers in the photograph are marvelous.  I really like bold flowers, but these could get me to rethink that.
