Visitors from Canada -take advantage of buying second homes in South Florida

I recently posted a story called Oh Canada!...Canadians are buying Real Estate For Sale In South Florida . Within 48 hours we received some great feedback.

One thing that is really amazing was that I was contacted by Global Television ...which is part of the Canada.com network.

They said they were reading my recent blog and wanted to know more about our market and how it might benefit Canadians looking to buy a second home here in South Florida. Originally they wanted to set up an interview with me but because they were unable to get their local affiliate to stop by with a camera in time because of another major news-story that took priority and so they decided to put it off until a later date. They did talk to us on the phone for about 10 minutes and wanted to hear our views about our local market and whether or not we were seeing an increase of clientele coming from Canada. I guess some of the news media took an interest in my blog.

When we looked today...it showed that the Canadian dollar exchange rate have been holding right around at $1.10. That is still good news for our past,present and future clients. In general .."it is a great time to buy a home in Florida." Currently..there are over 100,000 homes on the market throughout South Florida. These figures include the available inventory within Broward...Dade and Palm Beach counties.

This week is the start of when our snowbirds and tourists return to our sunshine state. Snow fall will be forthcoming and this is the time for them to start their holiday vacations and what better than to spend it in our very warm and comfortable climate. Our weather here has been fabulous the last 4 days. The temperature in South Florida has been mostly sunny in the 80's with virtually no humidity.

Trade in the ice and snow for palm trees. This is the place you can call your winter home.

It's a great time to buy the home that you've been looking for. Come visit the area so you can see all of the South FL Real Estate for sale. You will be glad you looked at all the opportunities available.

Good info, Neal. You're welcome to join my Ontario Real Estate and Information group and post it there too, if you like.

One of these days, in the not too distant future, I'll be one of those snowbirds...selling cottages and vacation homes in Ontario from spring to fall and then heading south come November.

Thanks..I also took the liberty of adding the other article as well.

You are quite right Neal that there is an opportunity now for our many snowbirds. We have hundreds in our own community who "flock" south starting now and return in the spring. I am curious if they are buying or renting. It might be worth your while to do some promoting up here in our local media.

We actually have advertised there and will probably doing a LaPresse ad soon. If you read the other post we mentioned it. Hopefully we will be called back for from the news.

Actually Neal, I was thinking more direct advertising in our town as we have the lion's share of Ontario's snowbirds right here in the Collingwood area.

Neal -this is very creative marketing and it worked - it was noticed. After this interview it may really work by bringing in the buyers.

Neal- There are lots of rumors swirling around that say that Canada will be the next hot spot for investment. Stable government, lots of natural resources and money to spend..

This is the power of Active Rain! Congratulations & I'm so glad it got noticed! (Who wouldn't want to trade in the ice & snow for palm trees?)

It was still pretty cool to get that call..but a sheriff was shot today by an escapee and that took preference with their camera crew.

And Great Britain, and Germany, France, Russia... most of the globalized world has stronger currency than ours these days. Soon this shall all pass.

Great idea behind this post. Have you seen an increase in overseas buyers? We've seen only a little. Our last closed deal, for that matter.

My partner is Canadian and I'm starting to wonder if I should convert. Overseas?...can't tell you...my clients are here on the sellers side ...most of our buyers are from Canada these days and the others believe it or not are from NY. Whether or not the dollar is stronger over there ...is still a good reason for them to spend here to get more value and why not take the opportunity to buy when prices are low here.

I hope they call us...unfortunately a sheriff was killed yesterday and local camera crews were on that scene when they called me. If not...they still got some info from us. Interesting how it was noticed over there in Canada.
