NoHo stands for “North of Houston Street”.
It is located in the heart of Downtown Manhattan and its boundaries are roughly, Houston Street on the south, The Bowery on the east, Astor Place on the north and Broadway on the west.
Tucked in between the East and West Village, it is a desirable neighborhood because of its central location and loft style apartments.

This neighborhood is filled with eateries and after hours spots of all kinds, these include, Five Points, Cuba, NoHo Star and Butter.Because of its loft style apartments and location of NYU’s Tish School of The Arts, the neighnborhood has been a magnet for artists giving rise to such theaters as the Angelika Film Center and Astor Place Theatre.
It also plays host to the Annual NoHo Artwalk which showcases emerging artists along with the neighborhood’s many galleries.
Also a home of many writers, there are fabulous book stores to visit two of them being, Mercer Street Books and Shakespeare & Co.
