OK, this is going to be short and sweet...

I have noticed that since I have been using Active Rain that my Google rankings have went up

I'm sure that it is probably because I am linking pages on here to my own websites...

I've also read posts by Tom Burris about Google Juice, I kind of took it with a grain of salt...

However, I use a tool called Hittail, Hittail allows me to see which search terms are being used to find my website and then advises me on which subject to blog about...

It's a very useful tool and it also allows me to conduct the same search to look at the results...

So today, I am looking through the search terms used to come to my website, the longtail term was

home loan officer in texas, when Google showed the search, the Top 2 rankings were from Active Rain...Tom Burris was #1 and my VA Home Loan page on Active Rain was #2...

then a couple of listings down was Tom's Dallasloanguy website...

How cool is that, two Active Rain pages actually ranking higher than Tom's real website?

This is actually not a new thing, I have noticed that Tom and I both have search rankings that are very similar for many terms whenever I do my daily checking...

Oh, and the tool I mentioned above, Hittail...it's FREE... http://www.hittail.com

You have to put the code for hittail into your Web site before hittail will return results.

Nice post John. Do you use this instead of google analytics? Thanks.

Joe,

It's not really a replacement for Analytics...they both serve different purposes...
