You tell me YOURS I'll tell you Mine! Are you SMART?  SMART GOALS

Are your GOALS SMART?

First I want to say I HATE making GOALS.

Perhaps it's making a commitment that I don't like, but I've been married for 32 years, so doubt that's the problem.

Perhaps it's just the thought that goes into what those goals would look like, but I like to think things through so I doubt that is why.

Perhaps it's my dislike of failing, and if I make a goal and don't accomplish it I'm a failure.

Most likely it's because I'm scared to say what I want.... to let myself even dream about what could be IF I accomplished those goals.

What I do know is that at the end of the year, GOALS SHOULD BE an important part of thought process.

To be effective GOALS have to be SMART.

S  STATED

M  Measurable

A  Actionable

R  Realtistic

T  Timely

So make your goals SMART.  If you tell me yours I'll tell you mine!

Susan, one of our goals this year is to work on figuring out SEO on our own to help move our website further up in the pages.  When we started one year ago we were on page 40, we are now on 3 for the main keywords we have been going for.  The goal is to get to page 1.  Thanks for making me actually put this is writing, it felt good!  --Krystal

Setting goals not my strong suit either.  But I'm going deeper into goal setting this year than ever before.  I'll share in June and let everyone know mid year where I am in the goals I set.  I'm too superstitious to tell anyone now.

I actually love goal setting because it gives me an agenda.  I would expand on SMART to give it more meaning if you want others to get more out of it.

Specific - "I will blog 10 blogs every week in ActiveRain for one quarter"

Measurable - 10 blogs, and double check each Sunday to see if you did it.

Attainable - Do you have time to post 10 blogs per week? If not, maybe 5.

Realistic - Do you have enough resources or ideas to produce 10 blogs?

Timely - One quarter; that makes it measurable as well.

My goal this week is: "I will blog 10 original posts, 10 reposts, and drop 10 comments at least twice this week (ending Christmas day)."

The rest of the time is to have fun with my family.

Today we spent time with little nieces and nephews.

Krystal so my next question would be HOW -- Howa are you going to do this?

Tammy - my reaction is the same as your's.  However if you don't let SOMEONE know you're goals you are cheating yourself out of a support system.  TELL US.  Tell Someone - even off line

Cathy - that is awesome.  Let me know how you did
