WHAT IS AN "A" KISSER ?

By
Industry Observer TN LIC# 290452

A$% KISSER

There's always one in the office.

I can think of a few here in ActiveRain.

"A" kissers are suck ups, people who will kiss someone's butt to gain points.

These are folks that tend to be the goody goody types whom one can't trust.

They'll use what you tell them against you for their own personal gain.

They're social nerds with few social skills.

The way they can get attention is to play suck up to someone important.

The best way to deal with an "A" Kisser is to avoid them, don't trust them or confide with them.

They suck up all day to gain favors.

"A" Kissers are lowlife that use other people as targets for advancement.

They hone and cultivate manipulation skills.

They look nervous and babble about nothing.

That's how they manipulate victims.

"A" Kissers like to give gifts to their managers (buy lunch, books, sweater, etc...)

These are control techniques used on a weak managers.

They love to cause trouble by ratting out other employees.

They'll lie to have a story because a good "A" Kisser loves making life miserable for others.

A competent supervisor will find a reason to kick an "A" Kisser to the curb.

A competent supervisor knows that an "A" Kisser will steal their job when the opportunity presents itself.

Have you encountered "A" Kissers in the Rain or on the job ?

I assure you, I have.

Kick one to the curb today.

I did.
It'll make you feel better.

No different from your elementary school days. The same personalities grow up to occupy the cubicle next to you. You just have to deal with them.

Hi David, I can think of a few that come to mind. I've been known to kick a few A$$ Kissers to the curb. Although a few in the rain, the worst are the ones in the office. They're more difficult to avoid. Who did you kick to the curb today?

Not so, Bernadette. I don't have to deal with it if I'm in command. Recognizing the sign is the first step towards combating the issue. I believe in a fair environment, and demonstrating favoritism or partiality is unjust. The unfair treatment of any person or group of people on the basis of cronyism is morally unjust within the halls of commerce, or anywhere in this nation.

A salesperson seeking favors, Pamela.

It's not the first time. I've had salespeople offer me jewelry, record collections, musical instruments, and even small parcels of land for referrals. You learn how to throw water on the fire without batting an eye. A few months ago a customer came into my office and offered me a motor home for a forged signature. She said her husband had the flu and he couldn't be there to sign the documents for a commercial P&S. I threw her out of the office. She was an authentic crook, but not the first one I've seen. She disappeared into the stream of slime with the rest of the perps.

I want to learn how to juggle fruit so I can more fully appreciate the meaning of balance.

David, I was offered lunch last week by a salesperson, but I declined. I was just doing my job, and got the satisfactory result I'm supposed to get--there is no reason to buy me lunch. Now that I think about it, it was probably more of a bribe. I have my reasons for not using the escrow company he wants to use. The one I chose is reputable and in good standing. The one he wants to use is his office escrow company. Hmmm. Yesterday, I got an earfull how my choice is too slow, and blah, blah, blah.

Because some people can be bought off, unscrupulous people think everyone can be bought off. I want never to be bought off, or take bribes. It's despicable. Regarding your comment about weak managers: some managers love a$$ kissers because they think they're in the know and getting the real scoop, when nothing could be further from the truth. I just laugh at those types of managers because they are so blind to the truth. Then they wonder why all the good people leave them.

I always enjoy your posts, David. btw, I know how to juggle fruit.

His office escrow company ? That's a good one. :-) He waves his red flag proudly.

Prevarication and bribery are gambol to an A$% Kisser, Pamela.

I've never juggled fruit, just late night hours, but always mesmerized by those who can, like W.C. Fields.
