Feng Shui Furniture, what is best used or new? By Feng Shui LI

Old furniture or new furniture, which is better to have in your home when it comes to Feng Shui?  This is a great question and there is no correct or wrong answer.  Before Laura Cerrano Feng Shui LI consultant was featured in Newsday for a makeover article, she needed to find tow new chairs for her dining room because her old ones were falling apart.  So she set out intentions to buy new ones. Well, you never know how your intentions will manifest.  In stead of buying new ones, she came across a home that was renovating and on the curb were perfectly two new used chairs that you see in the photo above.

If those chairs are used, do they carry the energy of the previous owner? Yes they do! So it's important to still ask the history of those objects if that information is available. Also, before allowing those objects into your home, cleanse them.  Ms. Cerrano cleaned them with organic orange cleaner and smudged them with sage to release any negative energy and the personal energy of the original owner.

Here is another example of found furniture helping to enhance the energy of your home. Ms. Cerrano recently transformed a room in her home to be a guest/art studio.  She needed two night stands with small simple lights.  With in a short period of time she came across a garage sale that had just that! All together is coast her $15.00.

Here is the last example.  Ms. Cerrano always wanted a living room table.  Originally she thought about purchasing a glass table to keep the space light and airy.  Again, you send out your intentions and you never know how they will manifest :)  On her way to softball practice this past summer she came across another garage sale and fell in love with the two red Ikea tables. All together, $10.00! Not only that, they helped add a touch of color, not to much red, and allowed storage to fit underneath.  If she wanted the tables can come apart to accommodate guests and make more room.  Excellent find!

New or Old furniture, if you love it make it your own by cleaning it and blessing it, what ever method you choose.

What would be a time to only buy NEW furniture? In extreme situations such as a nasty break up, divorce, loss of a loved one where there energy was not of the greatest, just to name a few are recommended moments. More so even if you do bless and cleanse those pieces and they still give you an uneasy feeling.  That is a time it may be best to simply release and start new literally and spiritually.

This has happened with a couple of Ms. Cerrano's clients, it's very rare, but, if your intuition has a strong pull for that extreme change, chances are that is what you need to do.  But not all at once.  Make the changes and be open to seeing and feeling the shift in energy.
