After reading many posts on Active Rain and seeing many of our members at odds with each others part in the industry I just have to ask you this?
Press Play
Lets face facts shall we:
- Realtors
- Brokers
- Loan Officers
- Mortgage Brokers
- Mortgage Bankers
We are all nothing more than glorified Sales people. Some of us have fancy titles and think we might have more responsibility than others but when it really comes down to it we are all commission based. The more we sell, More we write the more we make. Thats the bottom line
When I see posts about people saying that using this type of Realtor or this type of Mortgage company is the "BEST" Way. Come on' who are you kidding? This is just your opinion and oh lets not forget your commission opinion as well.
The facts are, their are Good and Bad Realtors, (and I can do a whole post about the things I have seen but I have never done that and would never do it) Good and Bad Mortgage Brokers. Going a step further I know of several bad Real Estate Companies and Mortgage Companies that only interest (Under the eyes of Fiduciary responsibility) was to the all might dollar.
So before we keep bashing each other I think we need to ask us who do we love? Do you have a favorite Realtor, Appraiser, Mortgage Person? In your case that is the best way to go but please keep in mind it might not be everyones favorite way of going.
Personally I have been invited many times to set up shop out of real estate office and my opinion is and always will be that the Realtor, Appraiser, Title Company and the Mortgage person should all be separate companies and not affiliated. This will always keep the ability to either steal or commit fraud down to a limited role in the industry. I know this might not be the popular opinion but it is mine.
Now lets get back to business!
Matt,
LOL! I don't know about "glorified" sales people. I agree with you.
My belief is that there will always be people with a neon light over their forehead that says "Car Salesperson." And there will be those who truly treat others just like the way that they want to be treated.
There's significantly less of the second group though! That's just nature influenced by upbringing and societal mental germs.
What's important for anyone doing anything is how much forgiveness will each of us ask when it's time to meet destiny! I am working towards asking as little as possible. And I am practicing to ask for no forgiveness for my actions with real estate because I believe in Integrity, Honesty, and Perseverance!
