After Torrential Rains, Thunder, Lightning, Floods......... and Snow? Only in Hawaii! the weather started clearing up and I took a picture this morning of my last two orchid blooms that fared the weathered storm. Two died, the rest already bloomed.

I looked at the blooms and thought, "How simple but beautiful".  No matter how positive my spirit is I get caught up in "junk" just like anyone else and need to get out and do something to clear my mind.

Besides, sometimes I just have to listen to some good advice and "stop letting the little things bother me". Ahhh.  Don't Sweat the Small Stuff.

There are definitely other things in life to enjoy besides worry about things I have no control over.

Like...hit it to the swap meet! I went to the swap meet last week when it was just starting to rain and even the big Aloha Stadium Swap Meet had some drizzle going on. Well, if you have naturally curly hair like I do and spend time with the straigtening iron....you really don't want to be in even the slightest drizzle....because drizzle turns the hair to frizzle.

By the Way the Pro Bowl has been played at the Aloha Stadium since January of 1980. (Aloha Stadium to the right)

Because of the rains and wasting time traveling from Kam Swap Meet to the Aloha Stadium (Kam Swap meet was pouring and it definitely wasn't any fun with an umbrella) I ended up leaving early last week and didn't get some things I really wanted.

So, today was just that day to go back to the Kam Swap Meet in Pearlridge. It's actually not only a swap meet and flea market but a Hawaiian crafts, clothing, plants, jewelry, and you name it they got it kind of place ....it is also a farmer's market, seafood center, baked and cooked goods place as well. Rows upon rows of merchandise. There are even used goods (only a few stands of those in the back rows) and even Karaoke music for sale. I walked past that stand and there was a Filipino lady singing on the Karaoke to entertain us all.

So, I bought a lot of goodies for some children on the mainland as well as some other stuff I needed. Like the wonderful veggies to the left! (Gary was laughing at me when I was "staging" them for the picture)

I spent about five dollars on all those Hawaii Local Farmer grown vegetables!  Tomatoes, carrots, snow peas, green beans, mushrooms, onions, and potatoes.

So, after taking the picture of those wonderful vegetables I thought...hmmm...I'll make lunch for Gary and I. (he is closing the store tonight so he's hungry)

I start chopping some of the veggies for a chicken stir fry and throw everything in the pan with a little seasoning, chili sweet sour sauce and shoyu and Voila!

Yup...ate already and boy was that good!

Now, Gary loved every bite and only after he was done eating did he speak up and say, "You just cooked so you could blog about it". That was pretty funny. .....and most likely the truth hahahahaha!

In any case, now I'm out of the funk and back on track. Printing a few Buyer Packets and trying to put together a new Seller Presentation folder.

Multi tasking with taking pictures and blogging, doing work, checking emails as the pop ups come up and now?

Aloha and have a wonderful evening and support your local grown produce, farmers and local businesses......

**The Kam Swap Meet and the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet are open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays weather permitting and also event permitting for the Aloha Stadium. Go early because it does get hot!  Take an umbrella and bottles of water!  (you can usually get there at 8am and it'll last until about 2pm) **

Sally, beautiful post!  Heck, didn't have to read the words -- the pictures were so beautiful!  But I did read the words too.  Hmmm, now I'm hungry, time to eat a late dinner -- do you have any leftovers you can send to San Antonio?

Sally - I am officially hungry now that I read your post.  By the way, where did you get the logo?  I remember when it was set up for you.  Was it Margaret?  I can't recall now, and I would love to get one for my name.

Hi Sally,
Funny what we'll do for blog fodder!  Yes, your Gary called you out on that but he did get a good meal out of it so what is he complaining about?  :0) I must say your chicken stir fry looks good.   .
Those funks attack all of us at times.   When it happens, I just have to forget work and do something fun.  Just what you did,

Great localism blog post!  And where did the curly hair come from? Japanese and Swedish, both are straight hair genes.:) Katerina

Boy I loved this one, girl!

I've been to the swap meet at Aloha Stadium a couple of times, and absolutely loved it, a great place for treasures. What a fun place, maybe Marlene and I can make it during the CRS sell-a-bration?

Woo Hoo Sally...

I just wish I had been born knowing that it's self defeating to sweat the small stuff. It took me 40 years or so to learn that :)

I also wish I could afford to send everyone I know the book "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff"

Maybe someday I'll be rich and famous and that's exactly what I'll do :)

I have that book and also the sequel "What about the Big Stuff".....you'd think I could just breeze through life with all the same books you have .....  and I do believe we have Deepak Chopra (I have about 10 of his books)

Sally-I love your staged veggies...they really looked appealing that way...but your lunch...now that is what I am talking about...yummy! A swap meet....love it...we call ours a flea market....I think swap meet sounds so much better.... I go to an oriental grocery in Daytona..I love all of their fresh veggies and fruits...

Jeff:  Uh...an "open air market"? Uh, flea market? Uh, Outside tent stores?  .....or even the big stuff....they were talking about it....haven't heard anything else either.  I just wanted to mention it because that's where one of the SWAP MEETS are at :)

Midori: At least you appreciated the staged veggies :) (I still can't believe Gary was laughing his behind off)   Flea market, open air stores ...whatever they're called their cool!  This one has miles of stands with crafts, goods, wares, souvenirs, clothes, luggage, car seat covers, baked and cooked food....whatever.

WooHoo Sally, You have so many fanx I thought I'd never get through the comments. Katerina beat me to the hair question because I remember you telling me of your ancestory.

And if you got all those vegetables for five bucks I'm amazed. Hawaii is supposed to be expensive. Doesn't sound like it to me.
