Have you ever seen over 8,000 floating lanterns in the night sky? It is some sight on video; I can only imagine how awesome it was to experience in person.
This is how Poznan, Poland celebrated their summer solstice or shortest night of the year in June 2011.
Today we go into our winter solstice, marking the shortest day of the year. Not much fanfare here.....only COLD....and a little extra DARKNESS. We could use some extra lantern light.
These paper lanterns are actually 4 feet tall and last about 20 minutes each. They're like mini hot air balloons. I'd love to see something like this happen here to celebrate the Fourth of July. It's a spectacular sight.
Relax and enjoy these two minutes.
