Are you still working on stuffing some stockings?

There are 4 shopping days left until Christmas.  Do you still have stockings to stuff?  Here is a great list by Lindsey.  I gave up on stuffing stockings with stuff several years ago.  NOW I go get $25 $1 Bills and wad them up like tissue paper and stuff their stockings.  If any of my 5 children want socks, oranges, crayons, etc they can now go buy it themselves.

Christmas can turn into such a harried experience when one doesn't take care of 'things' early in the season. I'd probably be known as one of those procrastinators that I'm talking about... so I'm probably the right one to ask about stuffing a few stockings late in the game. Maybe. I'm going from a few different angles here, but most importantly - cheap and useful (for the most part). We aim to avoid hokey gifts that won't work very long in effort to make the holiday last as long as possible. Here are a few options that are sure fire 'wins' in our house....

1. socks (long for one, short for the other)stocking
2. unders.... usually special ones that boys love and like (this year batman and spiderman are the likely characters)
3. chocolate....or chocolate bars (dark for dad, milky for the kids)
4. pencils... or pens, markers, crayons, paints
5. An orange, an apple... a pomegranate
6. Scotch tape (specifically for the kids)
7. Special soaps or lotions
8. Shampoo and Conditioner
9. Toothpaste and toothbrushes.... and floss
10. Stickers
11. Puzzle books
12. Novels or kid's books
13. Batteries
14. Beads or craft supplies
15. Individual tea or coffee packets or hot cocoa
16. Smallish gift cards like Itunes
17. Scratch-offs (for adults)
18. Card Games ------> there are a bazillion choices that look like fun!
19. Long Underwear/Pj's
20. A favorite DVD
21. Nail Polish, nail clippers or the like
22. Night Lights or flashlights
23. A special ornament (I do this earlier in the season, usually, but sometimes they get in the sock)
24. A favorite treat or goodie (our house it's cheez-its and lemon cookies)
25. Gum or breath mints
26. Matchbox Cars
27. Hair bows or clips
28. Chapstick or Lip Gloss
29. Trial size fragrances
30. A special Photo or Memory
31. Paper, Notebooks or journals
32. Music CD
33. Soda Pop --- > Can or bottle
34. Bubble bath
35. Candles

I'd love to hear some of your favorite ways to fill a stocking... new ideas and brainstorming are always a great way to make a holiday special! I've got 3/4 of our stockings filled with treats but can always squeeze in a few more trinkets... if they are the right ones!
