Do you know who's checkin you out?
Recently, I've have a couple of agents in my office tell me that they've been talking about me. The word apparently is out that I have a nice blogging thing going. The first wants to meet with me after the holidays to pick my brain.
Apparently she was talking to my past Managing Broker who told her I had done some really good stuff to my website and blog. (who knew she was checkin me out?) Oh..don't go checkin out my website now..they just gave us a new format which I'm trying to learn...something on the top of my list!
The second was the other day when I stopped into the office. An agent that I don't really know that well said that her and a few other agents are forming a brainstorming meeting....and they also heard I had a awesome blog (ok..maybe she didn't use awesome..lol).
Now..I"m thinking it also might be due to my website hits that show on the company site. I've gone from being just a tiny blip to consistantly being in the top 50 of the entire company. Today I was sitting at the #12 spot! Not bad when you consider there are at least 500 agents in our company.
I've been actively blogging now for little over a year. I can remember chatting with my then Managing Broker about my goal to have some online presence and felt I was actually late to the game in this arena, but wanted to jump in anyway! I mentioned that I had just started blogging and that my goal was to write a post 5 times a week. I got the impression at the time that he thought my time would be better spent making cold calls, handing out my business card to whomever I came in contact with..ya know, the usual stuff that all Brokers suggest for prospecting..<yawn>.
Of course I know those things work..but they just haven't worked for ME...so I wanted to look at different avenues. I love blogging and find when I don't get to it, I MISS it!
So fast foward to a year later and I'm smiling as I see other agents just now doing some of the things I've been doing, like the use of video. It kinda felt good to know I was a bit ahead of the game in that respect all because I decided to start blogging...and blogging here in the Rain where I've learned so much and have been challenged to go outside my comfort zone.
I love that I'm on the radar now which means that hopefully I'm on the radar as a great Portland Metro agent to work with for buyer's and seller's out there. That is of course my goal!
I had no clue that these people were checking me out...so one has to think, they're checking YOU out too!
