For the last two months, we've run blog tours of ActiveRainer's 'other blogs,' or the blogs they maintain outside of ActiveRain.  Some of us, it seems, are crazy enough to maintain 2 (or more!) real estate blogs.  My other blog, for example, is mioaklandcounty.com.

So, here is the invitation.  The December Blog Tour is now officially underway.

Here are 3 posts you can look back on if you are curious about what has taken place in the past.  But, really, its quite simple.

Here is how it works:

  • Put a link in the comments here with your 'other' blog's URL.
  • If you have a post that you think we would particularly enjoy, use that as the landing page.  But the main page is just fine too.
  • I will stop by any blog that is posted here.
  • If you post your own blog here, I ask you to visit at least the two other blogs that sign up immediately before you.   Of course, you are welcome to visit more.
  • If you add your blog early in the comments, you'll want to stop back later  to check out the new  additions.
  • When you are out visiting, leave a comment to let them know you stopped by.
  • Optional: You might consider adding someone to your blogroll.  If you don't have an outside blog, you could add them to your "favorites" on your blog settings or as an associate.

This month, given that it is the holiday season and people are busy, we will stay open to new tourists for an unprecedented 7 days.  Think of it as a nice winter vacation.  Join us before December 20th to take place in the fun!

If you find out anything interesting while you are out there, report back here and let the rest of us know so that we don't miss it...

If you want to make sure you don't miss future blog tours, join our new group, blog tourists

Bon Voyage!

Maureen.... how you do....;o)  I am tired... I have a long task ahead of me tonight and you will see it later. But I am not a computer geek. So... I will try this, but all I know how to do is cut and paste my blog.... not much about the URL of my blog and all that stuff. I sound stupid... but I just have so much more on my mind to deal with....with this new office...etc etc....  Again, I will try it and let me know if it's okay and that it works.  thanks, jeff

Maureen,

I hate to say it, but I actually have about eight.  I do not keep all of them up to date though, for obvious reasons.  I have several under Google's blogspot, I have Myspace and then I have my main site's blog.

Here is the address for the main site's blog... http://solidrockmortgage.com/blog/nfblog

If anyone wants the others, email me and I will send them or post here later.

I tried to comment on your blog but I had to register for realtown blogs which was a longer ordeal than I cared to go through... You might want to change that setting if you want to get comments.  I dont think I had to do that to comment on Maureen McCabes blog or Jonathan Daltons.

Visit the two before ... Mitchell's and Norms?  Norm what's the weather like in Saskatoon this time of year?  I am not sure I want to visit Canada in December... but I will.

61° degrees today in Columbus Ohio... please visit Columbus Best Blog before the weather changes..

I am not going to direct you to an entry this time... I have had trouble making myself blog there for some reason but added three entries this AM.

#1...about Jay Thompson's excellent adventure on Active Rain trying to set a new world record... It is a thinly disguised invite to Active Rain.  I have been very successful dangling Active Rain info and getting RE agents etc. to join on my invite...  try it... it's easy.  I snag a couple most times I do it on CBB.

#2 Announcement re: Real Living C.O.O.(local) being named to the advisory board of Trulia.com with other notable names... (I'm a name dropper)

#3 an entry about Real Estate Search engines, national and local...Zillow.com, Trulia.com etc.

or visit anything... It is not all real estate.

I mentioned the first two blogs I started in the November Blog Tour, so here is the third about First Time Buyers. Hope you will stop by with some comments - I'm sure I can improve it a bit.

And if you are a CRS in San Diego, you can also pop by the blog I started for CRS members and CRS candidates in the SD area - not much there yet but it will gain momentum once we are into the New Year. If there are any suggestions, I hope you will let me know. Thanks!

Oops, "need to watch the time" - gotta go. Bon Voyage!

I actually went to Jeff the spammer's (NOT DOWLER) site and tried to find an email address to invite him.  I wanted to assume he is a blogging newbie and that he just made a mistake.  I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, and am hoping that he will play by the blog tourist rules and visit the other sites with something other than comment spam.

Would it be kosher to post an invite link in the comments on his blog?  Thank him for stopping by... the worst thing that could happen is he would feel spammed and remove it.  The best that could happen is he and others could join and learn good blog ettiquette... via this platform.

Ouch - gosh you head out on an appointment for a few hours and look what happens. I watched the emails on my phone but it was too complicated to respond, esp. while driving. Talk about feeling helpless...and unable to defend myself.

I confess - I DID NOT DO IT! Nope, not me, I don't spam.

Anyone who has read my blogs should know I am a residential real estate agent and have nothing to do with mortgages, etc. Guess I'm a little surprised that anyone who has read my posts would actually think this might have been me. Hmmm, guess I have to do something about my reputation.

Glad it all got figured out

If anyone is interested here is a link to my news for real estate agents blog. I am always looking for more experiences about lead generation companies and you will get a link out of the deal, here is one example about Home Gain Leads. If you have a story that you want to share just go to my profile on AR and send me a email. The post must be 100% origanal content, other than that feel free to give a good review, bad review, whatever you want. Also will consider any other post topic that you think would fit into the overall theme of the blog. Easy, free PR4 links ;) .

Maureen, Went visiting on all the blogs. Don't know why it didn't seem to catch on this time round but it was a good experience. By the way, I meant to tell you that when I was on your outside blog and wanted to contact you through email. I clicked on your link and thought you should know that it says (at) instead of @. No big deal but if someone didn't pay attention and didn't change it in their email to you...you'd never get it.

Happy holidays.

Gena, I've seen that (at) thing done pretty commonly so that spammers do not pick up email addresses using bots to search the text.  You are right.  A lot of people would miss that.  Not sure what the solution is.  Maybe I need to put a note there so people know what to do.

Hi All,

My other blog is http://lauriemanny.blogspot.com/.  I recently set it up to drive traffic to the content pages of my website.  It mostly consists of extensive area information.  While I am not yet getting any comments on it yet, I am getting some hits from the site.  Going to keep it running and add to it occasionally.  Still have more content to add.  Just taking it one step at a time.

Would love it if some of you left comments if and when you visit it.

I will be visiting all of the other blogs on this site throughout this upcoming week and will certainly try to do the same.

Thank you,
