Nothing better than getting your own into sports.  My daughter, Claire, has her first season as pDaddy's Little Rookielaying basketball of any sort at all.  Never dribbled, never shot, but.....SHE'S VERY ATHLETIC!  She is into gymnastic, and is very even keel in all that she does, but it's a steep learning curve if you're not playing a long time. 

This was one of her last games of the season.  In fact, then she had a double header. 

SHE HAS NEVER SCORED A POINT ALL YEAR, BUT I told her that this is the one sport that it is acceptable to fight. 

She was the most improved player and learned how to box out and fight, fight, fight for a loose ball.

At the end of the year they even created a play called "CLAIRE".  Well guess what?  At the end of the year, she finally gets the play called and she makes her play and gets her bucket.

It doesn't really get any better than this now does it?

LOL, only because my kid had a similar experience and after the teams getting pummeled all season he comes in one day grining because even though they lost he scored his first 2 points! Even in defeat knowing you helped add to the tally is a nice thing.

Yay, Claire! Our boys play lots of sports, some better than others, and we love the lessons it teaches them... especially discipline and dedication. It sounds like Claire is learning this lesson well, too.

This is a more common occurrence than most people realize.  That first basket that Claire made can be the impetus to thousand more baskets.  Remember...it's all about heart.  With your full suport and encouragement, I am sure that her days of stardom is not too far into the future.  Congratulation...Way to Go Claire!
