-- The end of October saw a large number of homes Expire and come off the market. Because of this; most inventory levels dereased. Whether or not they are re-listed and return to the market will be determined in the coming weeks.

example: Single Family Homes in DC; 47 less on market from last week, but 80 were taken off - in reality 33 new listings came on the market.

Single Family: Actives: 1887 ( Down 47 from last week) OFF: 80 Under Contract: 417
Condos: Actives: 1493 ( Down 22 from last week) OFF: 46 Under Contract: 444
Arlington County
Single Family: Actives: 540 (Down 17 from last week) OFF: 18 Under Contract: 121
Condos: Actives: 583 (Up 23 from last week) OFF: 12 Under Contract: 105
Prince Georges County
Single Family: Actives: 6480 (Down 198 from last week) OFF: 276 Under Contract: 566
Condos: Actives: 810 (Down 14 from last week) OFF: 37 Under Contract: 102
It is important to see the number of homes taken "Off" the market. While many of these homes will return to the marketplace a week or two; seeing a listing "expire" means that the seller and agent thought or expected the home to be sold by now.
